ROSSITER & PREGNANCY


Q: "I am pregnant and am looking for pain relief. Will Rossiter help me?"


A: Rossiter can be helpful to you during pregnancy under certain circumstances.


1) There are several observed or identified potential benefits to receiving fascial release with Rossiter during pregnancy.


  • Reduced muscular tension, especially in the lower back, upper back, shoulders, neck and head

  • Reduced stress on weight-bearing joints

  • Enhanced body awareness for better posture and less discomfort

  • Hormone Regulation - Increased levels of the "feel-good" hormones serotonin and dopamine, decreased levels of cortisol, (an indicator of stress), and an overall improvement in mood

  • Improved circulation of blood and lymph to reduce swelling and edema

  • Reduced sciatic nerve pain

2) You may receive Rossiter if you can answer YES to everything on this checklist.

  • I have not experienced any the complications or conditions listed below which would make it unwise to receive Rossiter;

  • I am experiencing a Low Risk Pregnancy;

  • I am receiving medical care including regular check ups throughout my pregnancy.


3) We do not recommend you receive Rossiter if you are currently experiencing any of the following complications or conditions.


  • First trimester due to increased risk of miscarriage

  • High risk pregnancy

  • Bloody discharge

  • Continual abdominal pains

  • Sudden gush or leakage of amniotic fluid

  • Sudden, rapid weight gain

  • Increased blood pressure

  • Protein or sugar in urine

  • Severe back pain that does not subside with change in position

  • Visual disturbances

  • Severe nausea and/or vomiting (cannot keep anything down)

  • Severe headaches

  • Excessive hunger and thirst

  • Increased urination in the second trimester

  • Fever

  • Diarrhea

  • Excessive swelling in arms or legs

  • Decrease in fetal movement over a 24-hour period
